Areas of Research Interests
Dr. Aarti Sevilimedu is a Senior Principal Research Scientist-II and Research Coordinator for the Rare Diseases Program at Dr. Reddy's Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS), Hyderabad. Her research group focuses on developing robust translational models using zebrafish to elucidate the mechanistic basis of rare genetic disorders, validate human genetic variants, and accelerate gene therapy platform development.
She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) under the mentorship of Prof. John T. Lis, focusing on RNA aptamers targeting transcription factors, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA).
Dr. Sevilimedu has authored 17 peer-reviewed research publications in prestigious international journals including European Journal of Human Genetics, Human Molecular Genetics, Nucleic Acids Research, and PNAS, and holds 4 patents in gene therapy technologies and targeted drug delivery systems.
