"Perspectives from Bench to Bedside"
Initiative of SIAMG Special Interest Group in Fetal & Reproductive Genomics in collaboration with International Society of Prenatal Diagnosis
The Fetal Genomics and Its Complexities workshop is designed to provide an in-depth, scientifically grounded exploration of contemporary advances in prenatal genomics. Over the past 10–15 years, the field of human genetics has undergone rapid transformation, driven by exponential growth in genomic knowledge and the advent of high-resolution molecular technologies such as next-generation sequencing.
Many practicing clinicians are now increasingly seeking opportunities to engage with and incorporate these evolving genomic paradigms into their clinical practice — making this workshop an essential opportunity that clinicians should not miss.
This workshop brings together leading international experts to deliver a comprehensive and integrative overview of fetal genomics, with a focus on its clinical application in prenatal care.
The workshop program is specifically tailored for practicing obstetricians, fetal medicine specialists, clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, neonatologists, radiologists involved in fetal imaging, and postgraduate students.
Clinicians and healthcare professionals involved in antenatal and perinatal care who wish to integrate genomic medicine into their practice, including obstetricians, fetal medicine specialists, clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, paediatricians, neonatologists, radiologists, and postgraduate students in related specialties.
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, clinically relevant insights into fetal genomics from global experts. Participants will learn how to select appropriate genetic tests, interpret complex genomic data, and apply findings to real-world clinical scenarios.
The knowledge gained will enhance diagnostic precision, support informed genetic counselling of families, and facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
Ultimately, it will empower clinicians to deliver more personalized, predictive, and effective antenatal care, leading to improved maternal and fetal outcomes.
